Oracle Fusion Financials Cloud predefines same job roles such as General Accounting Manager and Accounts Payable Manager. The user can use these roles, create job roles, or modify them as needed and can be assigned more than one role, so don’t define a role that includes all the accesses needed for users.
Fusion General Ledger Security - General ledger is a component of fusion financials. Its functions and data are secured through the data access sets, job roles, and segment value security rules.
Functional Security is what you can do and is managed using job roles. The General Accounting Manager, General Accountant, and Financial Analyst are job roles which are predefined for Oracle Fusion General Ledger. Each job role includes direct privilege grants and duty role assignments to offer the access to application functions that correspond to their responsibilities.
Data Security, which controls what action, can be taken against which data. It is managed using Data access sets, it can be defined to grant access to a general ledger, ledger set, or specific primary balancing segment values associated with a ledger. You make a decision whether data access set provides read-only access or read and write access to the ledger set, which typically represents your legal entities that belong to that ledger. Primary balancing segment values without a particular legal entity association can also be directly assigned to the ledger and Segment value security rules control access to data that is tagged with the value set associated with any segment in your chart of accounts.
In Oracle Fusion Account Payables you can secure and access invoices and payments by business unit, for viewing or processing only in the business units to which you have permission which must be explicitly granted to each user. Account Payables is integrated to the document repository for processing scanned invoices. Edit access to the document repository is granted to the Accounts Payable Manager, Payable Specialist, and Payable Supervisor
Financial Application Administrator, Cost Accountant, and Project Accountant are predefined roles, which have view only access to the document repository.
